The Cordillera Blanca is not a simulated training ground. It is a living alpine environment of glaciers, ridgelines, shifting weather, and vast Andean scale.
Training takes place primarily within the Llaca Valley and on the glaciers surrounding Vallunaraju — one of the most complete alpine training environments in the Cordillera Blanca.
Within a single high-mountain setting, climbers are exposed to glacier travel, crevasse systems, crampon technique, alpine anchors, rope systems, ice climbing, high camp management, and real summit progression in the same terrain used for professional guide development in Peru.
Rather than isolated technical skills practiced artificially, systems are progressively developed and applied within real alpine terrain.
Over time, movement becomes more fluid. Decisions become calmer. The mountains begin to feel less intimidating and more familiar.
This progression builds more than technical ability — it develops awareness, confidence, movement efficiency, and the ability to operate safely within high-mountain environments.
Core competencies taught in real alpine terrain across glacier, ice, and high-mountain environments.
Glacier travel & moving together as a rope team
Crevasse rescue systems
Snow & ice anchor construction
Alpine rope systems & transitions
Ice climbing & crampon technique
Summit pacing & altitude management
Expedition planning & high camp systems
Movement efficiency & alpine decision-making
Our programs are designed around real progression within alpine terrain — combining glacier systems, rope work, crevasse rescue, alpine movement, summit progression, and expedition experience through immersive instruction in the Cordillera Blanca.
Training takes place primarily within the Llaca Valley and surrounding glaciers of Vallunaraju — one of the most complete alpine training environments in Peru and the same terrain used for professional guide development.
Each program is privately structured around previous experience, acclimatisation, movement efficiency, and long-term mountain goals.
Some climbers arrive preparing for their first glacier experience. Others are working toward larger alpine objectives, expedition leadership, or long-term alpine development in the mountains.
The programs below represent the most common progression pathways we offer within the Llaca Valley and surrounding glaciers of Vallunaraju.
In addition to the structured programs above, we also organise private mentorship and customised alpine development programs throughout the Cordillera Blanca.
specific mountain objectives
glacier progression
Alpine rock development
expedition preparation
rescue systems
long-term alpine mentorship
preparation for international expeditions
movement efficiency and mountain decision-making
Some climbers join for foundational glacier progression. Others arrive preparing for technical alpine objectives or developing long-term mountain capability through immersive mentorship in real terrain.
Every program is adapted around the individual climber, their experience level, acclimatisation, and long-term mountain goals.
